Family Resource
Management

Programs in this area help you learn how to better manage your resources in order to get more of what you want out of life. These resources include time, skills and abilities, health and energy, attitudes and interests, material goods, and money. The skills and knowledge gained enable you to more fully utilize all your resources and to become a better consumer. The following programs are offered to help you manage your resources.

The Fudge-It Budget (Three 1-hour sessions)
The Fudge-It Budget program is designed to assist a family in creating a spending plan that they can afford and with which they can live. Using the workbook provided, families set goals, list income, select must-spend items, list "fudge-it" items, check their plan, and begin keeping accurate records. Families can gain satisfaction and self-esteem from learning to live within their means.

Getting More Satisfaction Out of 24 Hours (One 1-hour session)
In this program, participants learn how to set goals for themselves, set priorities, develop orderly thought processes, and stop wasting time on matters out of their control or financial reach.

Loosen Up! Life IS What You Make It! (One 1-hour session)
Learn how to take control of your life without stepping on others' toes. Most people wear many hats during the day and in the course of a lifetime. You are valuable and your are important - if not necessary - to others' well-being. Indulge yourself in taking charge of your health and well-being.

Who Gets Grandma's Yellow Pie Plate? (One 3-hour session or two 2-hour sessions)
A step-by-step guide to passing on personal possessions. This program can be an effective tool for a variety of family groups working to make decisions in different situations. You will find the guide and program helpful as you consider inheritance issues following a death or family crisis, during a move to an apartment or personal care home, in preparing a will, or when carrying out the wishes of a loved one. There can be powerful messages in who gets what. Planning ahead allows for more choices, the opportunity for communication, and fewer misunderstandings and conflicts. Non-titled possessions are not just pieces of our past, but pieces of our living history.
